Terms and Conditions of Use

By using this website or becoming a member of CSL, you agree to the following terms:

1. Membership Structure

Membership is open to individuals aged 16 or over.

Each member has one vote under CSL’s Articles of Association.

Membership fees support operational costs, share acquisition and professional services.

CSL reserves the right to refuse or terminate membership for conduct inconsistent with our values, provided lawful process is followed.

2. Payments

All payments are processed by Stripe.

Membership renews monthly unless cancelled.

CSL does not store card details.

3. User Content and Conduct

General

Members must not:

  • Post defamatory, abusive or unlawful content
  • Harass or threaten CSL staff or volunteers
  • Misrepresent CSL online or offline
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems

Where members, volunteers or administrators submit, upload or publish any content to the CSL website or associated platforms, they confirm that:

  • They own the rights to that content, or
  • They have the lawful permission of the rights holder to use it

Users must not upload, post or submit any content that is defamatory, libellous, obscene, offensive, unlawful, misleading, or infringes the intellectual property or other rights of any third party.
CSL does not actively monitor all content and accepts no responsibility for content submitted by members or users. CSL
reserves the right to remove any content at its discretion.

CSL may suspend or remove membership if necessary.

4. Liability

CSL provides information and services “as is”.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

CSL is not liable for losses arising from membership decisions, website issues or third-party service failures unless required by law.

5. Intellectual Property and Liability

Content on this site is owned by CSL unless stated otherwise.

CSL does not claim ownership of content submitted by users. Responsibility for such content remains with the individual who submitted it.
CSL shall not be liable for any loss, damage, claim or expense arising from content uploaded or published by users, except where required by law.
Any claims relating to alleged infringement or defamatory material must be directed to the individual responsible for submitting that content.

Members must not copy or distribute content without permission.

6. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions, and any disputes or claims arising from or in connection with them, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland.

The courts of Scotland shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms, the CSL website, or membership of CSL.

7. Amendments

CSL may amend these terms. Updates will be posted on the website.
